Our skyline, back on our wall

Dana R.United States
A clear acrylic panel on four brass standoffs on a white wall in window light: the Chicago skyline at sunset, the black tower with its twin antennas at the center, in glossy glass shards with lit amber windows and layered amber clouds, reflected in the lake in glass strips, "Chicago" in raised gold script

We moved away from Chicago last spring and I miss the lake more than I expected to. This has the towers, the sunset and the water, and the gold lettering catches the lamp at night. My husband stood in front of it for a long time.

Boston in my kitchen window

Priya S.United States
A round stained-glass suncatcher in a brownstone bay window: the Custom House tower, the Zakim bridge, Beacon Hill townhouses and two sailboats inside a navy and brick-red ring, "Boston" over MASSACHUSETTS on the cream banner

A gift for my sister, who went to school there. The brownstones and the harbor are all in the glass, and in the morning the whole sink lights up blue and gold.

Small print, big compliments

Andre W.United States
A navy chunky-knit beanie hanging from a wooden peg on a blush-pink backdrop, its cuff printed with "BROOKLYN" in hand-lettered cream capitals, NEW YORK small under it and the Brooklyn Bridge arch over the letters

It looks like something from a little local shop, not a souvenir stand. The bridge icon is tiny and sharp and the name is in heavy capitals right on the front.

The mountain is in it

Marcus T.United States
A clear acrylic panel on brass standoffs above a gray sofa: the Seattle skyline with the Space Needle and Mount Rainier in glossy glass shards, "Seattle" in gold script over WASHINGTON

I changed the line under the name to the year we moved here and it came out exactly as I typed it. Rainier behind the Needle, the way you see it on a clear day. The standoffs make it float off the wall.

All that glitter, and it still looks like home

Jasmine K.United States
A glitter resin slab on a city apartment wall above a reading chair: the Manhattan skyline with the Empire State and Chrysler buildings and the Brooklyn Bridge in gold leaf and champagne glitter, "New York City" in gold leaf over NEW YORK

I was worried glitter would look cheap. It does not: the city lights are tiny points of gold and the rest is deep and glossy, like looking out of a window at night.

First holidays in our new city

Hannah L.United States
A round glass ornament with a gold rim on a fir branch by a frosty window: the Stone Arch Bridge in snow over the frozen Mississippi and the downtown skyline inside a cranberry ring with holly, "Minneapolis" over MINNESOTA on the cream banner

We moved for my job in August. Our first ornament here is the city itself, with snow on it and a few lit windows, and it hangs right at the front of the tree.
