Do I need a photo?

No. Pick your place and press the button: the piece is the place alone. Add a photo only if you want your dog or your family in it, and put what makes it yours under Your words. Use either, or both.

What if my place is not on the list?

Type it anyway. Any place on earth is drawn from its name; for a small town, say what it is known for under Your words, and draw it again until it is right.

When do I pay?

At the end, once you have approved a design. Designing is free, you can draw it as often as you like, and there is no account to make first. Because the piece is then made for you, it is not returnable, which is exactly why the approving comes first.
